Setting Variables

The above calculator has the following variables:

  • value - price of the home
  • down - downpayment amount
  • amount - the loan amount
  • rate - loan interest rate in APR
  • years - loan term in years
  • pmi - annual loan mortgage insurance rate for loans with less than 20% down (automatically calculates at 0 if the downpayment is 20% or more)
  • insurance - annual homeowner's insurance amount
  • taxes - annual property tax payment
  • hoa - monthly homeowners association payment amount
  • cur - the currency symbol used in the results & the printable amortization schedule

To change any of those settings simply edit the values in the embed code above. You can even pass variables from your CMS into that URL string in order to have your home price drive other factors like the down payment amount, the loan amount, the property taxes, and the insurance amount.

An example below shows the same calculator using different amounts for every input & the £ currency symbol.
